We like the illustrations and the story is meaningful for people of all ages. My main concern is that the context is the story of one alien and while I can appreciate the author not wanting to assign a gender to the alien, it made it a little awkward to read going from singular to plural.Product details

The Lonely Alien edition by James Perez Children eBooks Reviews
This is a wonderful, fun story with colorful illustrations and an inspirational ending. I loved it and highly recommend it!
Don't we all feel like aliens some of the time?
A very sweet story about acceptance and non-discrimination. Wonderful graphics. I read it with my daughter, and we both loved it!
Was momentarily perturbed by the use of the plural pronoun for the little alien, until it dawned on me that it was a conscious effort to keep "them" gender neutral. A lovely meta-message!
I love different styles for children’s book illustrations and the 3D cutout felt shapes were unique and still kid-friendly. The funky font was perfect (except for the green type on red felt background). The story hooked me further. The sadness and frustration of the little alien being rejected again and again. The courage of the little alien to stand up for what’s right and the resulting reward for the heroic act. I do wish the pronoun for the little alien was “it” instead of “they” just because every time I read “they” I was looking for more aliens than just the one little alien. But, without a doubt, I want to see more of the little (not so lonely anymore) alien!
We like the illustrations and the story is meaningful for people of all ages. My main concern is that the context is the story of one alien and while I can appreciate the author not wanting to assign a gender to the alien, it made it a little awkward to read going from singular to plural.
