As far as Dr. Haleigh Rae Mitchner is concerned, Cooper Ridgeway is more suited to a superhero cape than mechanic’s overalls. It’s just like Ardent Springs’s most upstanding resident to rescue a pregnant, homeless teenager and bring her to Haleigh’s delivery room. When they team up to help the new mother and baby, Haleigh is determined not to cross the line with Cooper. Not only is he her best friend’s brother, he’s a guy who deserves more than Haleigh’s checkered past could ever offer.
At first glance, Haleigh is no longer the girl Cooper pined for in school. The sleek, professional OB-GYN seems more out of reach than ever for this small-town mechanic. But the more time he spends with the complicated woman, the more he wants her. Who better than Cooper to prove to her that nothing is beyond fixing? Especially in Ardent Springs, a town that’s tailor-made for second chances.

I am posting this same review for all 5 books in this series. All of them rate a solid 3-1/2 stars, but no higher.Pros:
- Terri Osborn writes well. With the exception of a few “me and so-and-so” grammar errors, these books are decently written and edited.
- The story lines were varied over the 5 books, and the writing remained true to how the character was defined.
Cons:
- These are just so formulaic. All of the men are tall, broad shouldered, narrow hipped, ripped, buff, and gorgeous. All of the women are petite, delicate, slender, and beautiful.
- The sex is also formulaic – in every encounter each person has multiple orgasms, every night together features sex all night (don’t these people ever sleep?), and they fall in love based on the quality and quantity of the sex.
- Stereotypes and double standards abound.
- Can we please have books that don’t portray the parents of the main characters as elderly, when they’re barely in their fifties? I get that the main characters tend to be in their late twenties to mid thirties, but the portrayal of their parents is awful. See the comment about stereotypes abounding.
I bought these because I have enjoyed other books by this author. But maybe that’s what I get for buying $1.99 books. You get what you pay for.

My One and Only Ardent Springs Book 3 edition by Terri Osburn Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Nobody is without faults, it is how we handle those faults that counts. Sooner or later we will have to face or demons if we are ever going to move forward.
I am really enjoying this Ardent Spring's Series.. My One and Only was just as hard to put down as the first two books in this series. Love how characters interact in each book. Terri Osburn is,a very talented author.
Love, love, love Cooper and haleigh 's story. Cooper had lived her from afar for years. haleigh was Cooper sisters best friend. Haleigh had a lots
Of issues from her parents which caused a spiral. Once she knew Cooper was interested she strives to get over her demons.
Please read and see how it all works out because it almost didnt.
I enjoyed watching Haleigh work through all of her insecurities and self deprecating beliefs to find her happy place with the one man that had always been there when she needed him. Cooper is one amazing strong and sincere man. He gave Haleigh everything she needed to grow and heal from her past without passing judgement and giving up.
Cooper has loved Haleigh for more then half his life. Only problem she doesn't know, now she's back in town. What a great story. I'm so happy Copper got a HEA. I love Terri Osburn's books. She makes you feel like your part of the book and hanging out with all your old friends. Just enough drama and lots of love and sweetness.
I was provided a complimentary copy of this book so I could give an honest review.
I loved this book! Cooper is the twin brother of Haleigh's best friend Abby & has been in love with Haleigh since they were teenagers. Haleigh is now a doctor, but has been to hell & back in her personal life. She feels that she is a bad bet for Cooper, but the attraction is overwhelming. Cooper owns an auto body shop & thinks she is too good for him. There is the complication of Haleigh believing her difficult mother will make things hard for them. Also, Cooper's sister is totally resistant to the match. However, these two can't help themselves! They have some major hurdles to get to the relationship they both deserve. I am looking forward to the next book, which I hope will be Abby's!
Terri Osburn does not create simple, non-dimensional characters. They are multi-layered, complicated, and flawed, making them infinitely more interesting. Take Haleigh, the heroine of My One and Only. Here is a woman who has regrets, who carries guilt and shame. A respected doctor, she has the outward appearance of a successful woman who has her life in order but, inside? Inside, she's one hot mess - a recovering alcoholic battling issues of self-esteem, and enough parental baggage to sink a boat.
Cooper Ridgeway feels like he's spent his whole life loving Haleigh Rae Mitchner but he's never felt worthy of her. His mean, drunk of a father did a number on Cooper's self-esteem that far outlasted the man's life. Even though Coop runs a successful business, he can't imagine what an educated, confident, doctor would ever see in a small-town mechanic so he keeps his distance. When a pregnant teen searching for her biological father brings Cooper and Haleigh together, Haleigh begins to view him as more than her friend's brother and when things begin to sizzle, Coop sees an opportunity to finally go after the woman he's always wanted. But when complications arise and truths begin to surface, will it bring them together or tear them apart?
There were times in this book when I was angry with Haleigh's behavior, when I wanted her to stand up for herself and for Cooper. But when you've spent most of your life being told you're not good enough by the person who should love you the most, it plays with your mind, your heart, your very soul. It creates patterns of behavior and belief that are not overcome quickly or easily, at least not in real life. Kudos to Osburn for keeping it real with this character and not taking the easy path. It may make it harder for some readers to like Haleigh but, for me, it makes this a more interesting, realistic, and, ultimately, satisfying story.
Then there's Cooper. Oh, my. Terri Osburn writes some terrific book boyfriends and Cooper, for my taste, is the best of the bunch. Much of the time I wasn't sure if I wanted to hug him, jump him, or give him a stern talking to but from the first page to the last, I never wavered in my adoration of this character as I cheered him on in his quest for a happy ending with his one and only.
If you enjoy small-town, contemporary romance with a rich depth of emotion, realistically flawed characters, humor, sizzle and a whole lot of heart, look no further than Terri Osburn's Ardent Springs series. My One and Only can easily be read as a stand-alone but for a more complete understanding of the characters, both primary and secondary, I recommend reading the books in order His First and Last, Our Now and Forever, and My One and Only.
